Shaikh Nasser leads Bahrain Endurance Team 13 to Mallorca

Manama, May 7 (BNA): His Majesty the King’s Representative for Charity and Youth Affairs, Supreme Council for Youth and Sports Chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee President HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa and Bahrain Endurance 13 Elite Team members reached Mallorca, Spain yesterday to take part in the Iron Man 70.3 Triathlon Championship, which takes place tomorrow (Saturday) with the participation of over 4000 contestants from all over the world.
HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa led the team in the morning swimming training session yesterday, to familiarise with the weather conditions there. The team also finished the evening cycling training, while they will complete the running exercise today.
The team attended the technical meeting of the race, where they were briefed about the rules and regulations of the race, along with the rest of the participants.
The meeting came after HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa and the Bahraini team members completed the administrative procedures to participate in the race and handed over the equipment to the organising committee of the event.
HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khaifa expressed that he is looking forward to achieve good results with the newly formed Bahrain Endurance 13 Elite Team in their first international experiment together as a team.
HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa underscored the importance of the championship, which is one of the most important international triathlon contests that require physical strength, stamina and concentration.
He noted to the team’s readiness and enthusiasm to compete in the championship, as training sessions commenced immediately after arriving in Mallorca.
On his part, Bahrain Triathlon Association President Shaikh Saqer bin Salman Al Khalifa stated that Bahrain’s presence in the championship is a unique experience and would have a positive affect on the team’s experience.
He said that the team has trained well for this occasion and that he is certain that they will achieve excellent accomplishments, following the leadership of HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
Bahrain Endurance 13 Elite Team Consultant Michael Gilliam confirmed the team’s readiness to take part in the championship, noting to the technical checks the team members underwent recently and showed great results.
The thirteen team members expressed their enthusiasm and optimism about their participation in the challenge, confirming that they have trained well in advance to achieve good results.
