Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ An opening of the 3rd University Sports Games of Mongolia (USGM) will take place on Thursday in the Palace of Sports. This year's Games will run in 15 kinds of summer and winter sports--boxing, volleyball, woodball, basketball, athletics, ski, speed skating, chess, tennis, indoor football, aerobics, handball, judo, freestyle wrestling and national wrestling. The 2013 University Games are the special events because some winners will be qualified to compete in the FISU 27th Summer Universiade to run July 6-17 in Kazan, Russia. ** ** ** An open tournament for shooting started on Tuesday in the Technical Sports Center of Ulaanbaatar on occasion of the 373th anniversary of the capital city. The tournament named after the City's Mayor has attracted 230 shooters in ten categories. ** ** ** Mongolian athletes have started an intensive training for Duathlon Asian Championships which are to take place on November 24-25 in Subic-Bay city, the Philippines. Mongolia's Triathlon Federation has selected athletes to first ever time compete in the championship. Duathlon is an athletic sport that consists of a running leg, followed by a cycling leg and then another running leg in a format bearing some resemblance to triathlons.
