"Thousand Butterfly" Area Good For Tour De Singkarak

Lubuk Sikaping, West Sumatra, March 13 (Antara) - The "Thousand Butterfly" area, located at Rimbo Panti in West Sumatra district of Pasaman, is worth visiting by the participants of Tour de Singkarak next June, vice district head of Pasaman said. Pasaman vice district head, Daniel Lubis made the statement here on Wednesday, hoping that the "Thousand Butter" area can include in the Tour de Singkarak (TdS) route this year. "We have the Rimbo Panti tourist object with its "Thousand Butterfly" place of interest in it," he said, adding that many people have not yet get information about the butter fly habitat. According to him, Pasaman district has proposed that the butterfly area can be considered to be passed by the TdS participants and foreign tourist particularly during the international sport event. To date, the "Thousand Butterfly" has become one of the main tourist resorts in Pasaman district, in addition to the Tuanku Imam Bonjol musem. Previously, West Sumatra vice governor Muslim Kasim confirmed that a total of 300 cyclists of 25 teams from several countries will participate in the 5th Tour de Singkarak. This year`s TdS from June 2-11, 2013 is also expected to be covered by around 100 journalists of print and electronic media from various countries. According to head of the Culture and Tourism Ministry`s West Sumatra provincial office, Burhasman Bur, last year, around 250 bicycle racers from 17 countries participated in the TdS that took place from June 4 through June 10, 2012. The last year`s event altogether extended over seven stages, during which the participants covered 856 kilometres. Burhasman said that in the upcoming TdS, cyclists will also pass through the districts of Dharmasraya, Solok Selatan and Pasaman and all together cover 1,000 kiometers.
