TWO MONGOLIANS LEAD IJF RANKINGS

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ A State Honored Sportsman and Olympic bronze medalist S.Nyam-Ochir and an international master of sports D.Tomorkhuleg have topped the latest rankings of judokas, in the men’s 73 and 66 kg weight categories, respectively. The latest rankings of the IJF were released on December 9 after running of the Tokyo Grand Slam and the Jeju Grand Prix tournaments. The leading Mongolians have gained 2,030 and 1,830 points so far. Among other Mongolians, an international master of sports and World champion M.Urantsetseg was listed the second with 2,210 points, following a Brazilian judoka and Olympic champion Sarah Menesez (2,654 points). Urantsetseg’s countrywoman G.Otgontsetseg was ranked the 7th with 1,026 points. A State Honored Sportsman and World champion Kh.Tsagaanbaatar (men’s 73 kg) and D.Sumya (women’s 57 kg) were listed the 4th. A Hero of Labour and Olympic champion Tuvshinbayar (men’s -100 kg) is the 9th thanks to winning a bronze medal in the Tokyo Grand Slam and a gold medal in the Jeju Grand Prix after about a year break. An international master of sports A.Tsolmon is also 9th place, in the women’s 52 kg category.
