Melaka On Its Way To Become Green Technology City State

MELAKA (Malaysia), Nov 23 (Bernama) -- Melaka has been selected as the precursor to the green technology city to create a high quality and clean healthy environment, said Energy, Green Technology and Water Minister Peter Chin Fah Kui. Chin said Melaka would become one of the green city through a pioneer project besides Putrajaya and Cyberjaya. "Melaka has the characteristics of Low Carbon City Framework and Assessment System (LCCF) which is a system that supports all the policies and initiatives in Sustainable Municipal Framework, including the Green Neighborhood Guidelines and the emphasis on upgrading the quality of life," he said. He was speaking to reporters after launching the Blue Print Melaka Maju Negeriku Sayang, the Green Technology town state, inaugurated by southern state of Melaka Chief Minister Mohd Ali Rustam at the Melaka International Trade Centre (MITC), Ayer Keroh, here, on Tuesday. Mohd Ali said the framework plan was developed through three advantages to achieve the Key Performance Indicators (KPI) aimed to strengthen socio-economic development, sustainable state and status of municipalities throughout the state. -- BERNAMA Malaysia
