Celebrity Millennium Arrives At Marina Bay Cruise Centre Singapore In First Trip To Asia
SINGAPORE, Dec 10 (Bernama) -- Celebrity Millennium arrived at Marina Bay
Cruise Centre Singapore (MBCCS) here on Saturday in her first trip to Asia.
Operated by Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd, the world-class ship will
home-port at MBCCS, using the purpose-built terminal as a springboard to its
other Asian destinations in the coming year.
The 91,000-tonne luxurious cruise ship which arrived from Benoa, Bali,
Indonesia, will stay in Singapore for two nights before departing on Monday to
Bangkok (Laemchabang), Thailand.
The ship will then home-port in Singapore more times in the coming year,
with trips to Bali, Lombok, Bangkok, Phuket and Ko Samui scheduled.
Melvin Vu, Chief Executive Officer of SATS-Creuers Cruise Services (SCCS)
said: “Celebrity Cruises is world-renowned for its modern luxury experience
offered on board her mega-vessels.
"We are pleased to have been selected as their homeport in Asia, and are
confident that our unique blend of service and efficiency will provide
passengers with a seamless transition from sea, land and air.
"This certainly cements Singapore’s status as a premier cruise hub, and
ultimately elevates the cruise industry in Asia," he said at welcoming the
cruise here.
With luxurious accommodations and intuitive service for its 2,138
passengers, Celebrity Millennium is top of the rankings among large cruise
ships.
Passengers can enjoy a myriad of Solstice Class features such as the
Celebrity iLoungeSM, an ice-topped Martini Bar, Café al Bacio & Gelateria, a
Cellar Masters Wine Bar, and the uniquely unordinarySM Qsine® specialty
restaurant.
Celebrity Millennium is the second cruise ship from Celebrity Cruises to
dock at MBCCS.
Celebrity Solstice arrived at MBCCS on Nov 23, 2012, when a new DriveCruise
service was introduced, giving cruise passengers special parking rates and
providing convenience to cruise passengers locally.
