Five Million Tourists Expected To Visit Kelantan This Year

KOTA BAHARU (Kelantan, Malaysia), Aug 20 (Bernama) -- The Kelantan government is targeting to attract five million tourists to the state this year, said the State Exco for Culture, Tourism and Heritage, Md Anizam Abdul Rahman. He said that for the period beginning January up to June this year, 2.3 million visitors had come to Kelantan. "We are confident of meeting the target based on the record last year which saw five million tourists coming to the state," he told reporters after launching the Berembang Tree planting programme to create a firefly garden at Min House Camp, Kampung Pulau, Kubang Kerian here Tuesday. In order to achieve the target, he said various plans and programmes had been drawn up including the firefly garden and rehabilitating the Rengas Hot Spring in Machang. -- BERNAMA
