Langkawi Agro-Tech Park Hit With Foreign Tourists

LANGKAWI (Kedah, Malaysia), JULY 30 (Bernama) -- The 27-hectare green agro-tech Langkawi park, located in the Malaysian north state of Kedah, received tourists from 93 countries with 42,000 patrons visiting it in the first half of this year, said Langkawi Mardi station manager Hashim Mat. He said the park, which was opened in 2005, drew tourists from the Middle-East, Asia, United Kindom, Germany, Russia and other countries. It has targeted 70,000 tourists to visit the park this year compared to 56,000 tourists last year, he said. He said other than breathtaking green scenery,local and foreign visitors could taste 20 types of fruits planted in the park including, star fruit, durian, rambutan, dragon fruit, orange, papaya and manggo. -- BERNAMA
