Putrajaya's Double Events To Draw More Than A Million Visitors

PUTRAJAYA, Malaysia, June 13 (Bernama)-- Putrajaya will once again draw local and foreign visitors to its double attractions scheduled for June 22 to 30, namely the lighted boat parade 'Magic of The Night' and Floria Putrajaya. Tourism and Culture Minister Mohamed Nazri Abdul Aziz expects more than one million visitors to the nine-day event which promises a variety of interesting activities. He said this years theme for the boat parade was Colours of Harmony with 14 decorated boats, including one from China, in a three kilometre parade at the Presint 2 lake from 8.30 pm to 11.30 pm. "All the states are taking part except Selangor, Penang ,Kelantan and Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur. This year's parade will be grander as next year is Visit Malaysia Year 2014," he told a press conference here Wednesday. He informed that the public could also take part in a photography contest in conjunction with Magic of The Lights and download the forms from www.motac.gov.my Meanwhile, the 2013 Putrajaya Garden and Flower Festival, better known as Floria Putrajaya is themed 'The Orchid-Tropical Treasure' featuring more than 5,000 orchids of various species. "A total of 86 international travel agents and media are scheduled to witness these two events," he said. --BERNAMA
