Thailand's Int'l Horticultural Expo likely to attract 2mln visitors

CHIANG MAI, November 28 (TNA) - More than two million people are expected to visit the forthcoming International Horticultural Exposition 2011, scheduled to be held at the Royal Flora Ratchaphruek Park in Thailand's northern resort Chiang Mai Province from December 14, 2011-March 14, 2012. The targeted number of international visitors to the three-month exposition, with revenues from sales of ticket expected to reach some 300 million baht totally, has been set by organisers of the event, despite a postponement from its earlier schedule from November 9, 2011-February 15, 2012. Upatham Nisitsukcharoen, director of the project management office of the International Horticultural Exposition, said that preparations for the exposition have been 100 per cent complete, projecting that about 30,000-40,000 people are expected to visit the event daily. Upatham announced that advance bookings in which ticket prices are reduced to half will be available until December 13. So far some 5,000 people have booked the event's tickets in advance. (TNA)
