Travelers Holidaying During Long Weekend Holidays In Thailand
BANGKOK, December 4 (TNA) - As winter season has arrived, tourism in the North, Northeast and South Thailand has become active as holidaymakers are spending leisure during the current three-day long weekend public holidays to celebrate His Majesty the King’s 84th birthday.
Many travelers are seen visiting several tourist destinations in the northern province of Phichit, especially at the provincial public park and at Bung Si Fai, the country’s third largest lake. While wandering around the park and the lake, tourists could relax amid fresh air, cool weather and appreciate the natural beauty. Most family tour groups visited fresh water fishes raised in the lake and enjoyed feeding them with bread and corn.
A walkathon was organised in front of Phum Srol School in tambon Sao Thong Chai of Si Sa Ket’s Kanthararak district bordering Cambodia to celebrate His Majesty the King’s 84th birthday which falls on Monday. More than 5,000 locals and foreigners joined in the event, organised for the 15 times. The weather in the morning was measured at 14 degrees Celsius only but participants seemed not to be tired as they viewed the beautiful scenery and the heavy fog.
In the southern district of Hat Yai, known as the shopping paradise in the deep South and near the Thai-Malaysian border, officials are preparing to officially launch the Hat Yai Cable Car on Monday (Dec. 5) coinciding the King’s birthday. The Cable Car is expected to draw immense interests from the people and tourists visiting Kor Hong mountain as they could see the entire town from the car. (TNA)
