Uzbek Investment Minister Calls for Launch of Joint Businessmen Forum Between Qatar, Uzbekistan

 

 

Doha, May 08 (QNA) - HE Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan Laziz Kudratov called for the launch of a Qatari-Uzbek  joint businessmen forum in Doha or in Tashkent to review the investment opportunities available on both sides and discuss facilitating the mutual investments that contribute to developing the commercial cooperation between both countries.

During his meeting today with HE Qatar Chamber Chairman Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim Al-Thani, the Uzbek official lauded the distinct relations between both countries and their interest to enhance these relations in various sectors.

Kudratov reviewed the investment climate in his country and the positive developments it endorsed over the past few years, indicating that there a number of large companies from different countries began to come to Uzbekistan and invest in various sectors.

He noted that his visit to Qatar aimed at strengthening cooperation in trade and investment fields between both countries, calling on Qatari businessmen to invest in Uzbekistan. He indicated that there are a host of investment opportunities in many sectors like infrastructure, mining, oil and gas, energy, renewable energy, agriculture, and food security.

The meeting touched on reviewing investment and commercial cooperation and the means to enhance the trade exchange between both countries. It also discussed the investment climate on both sides and the attractive sectors for investment and the possibility to enhance the mutual investments and establish commercial partnerships between the private sectors in both countries.

For his part, HE Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim Al-Thani praised the close relations between both countries, noting that there is a joint desire to develop their commercial and economic cooperation. HE said that Qatar Chamber encourages Qatari businessmen to explore the investment climate and opportunities available in Uzbekistan in many sectors such as agriculture, mining, and energy.

His Excellency stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation between Qatari and Uzbek companies and establishing trade and investment alliances that contribute to enhancing trade exchange between the two countries, which is still modest and below the level of ambitions. (QNA)
