The remains of legendary Korean independence fighter Hong Beom-do are temporarily laid at Daejeon National Cemetery on Aug. 16, 2021. The remains arrived in South Korea aboard a flight from Kazakhstan on Aug. 15 Liberation Day, 78 years after his death. The late Korean hero led independence militias in the Battle of Fengwudong in Manchuria to victory in 1920, widely known as Korea's first major victory against the Japanese colonial power. (Yonhap)
