Foreign direct investment in Georgia exceeds $230 million in second quarter

Georgia, Tbilisi, September 9 /Trend N.Kirtzkhalia/ According to preliminary data of Gruzstat, foreign direct investment totalled $232 million in the second quarter of 2013, increasing by three per cent compared to the first quarter of 2013 and by seven per cent compared to the second quarter of 2012. The information stated that foreign direct investment in Georgia totalled $459 million in January-June 2013. As Gruzstat reported, foreign direct investment in Georgia totalled $240 million in the second quarter of 2013, according to the preliminary data. The report said the largest investment was made in the energy sector and constituted $66 million, or 29 per cent of the total foreign direct investment. The processing industry is in the second place at $59 million and in the third place is transport and communication at $46 million. Do you have any feedback?
