PM tells Japanese business persons of Thailand’s readiness to prevent floods

JAPAN, March 9 (TNA) - Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra has informed key Japanese business operators of Thailand’s readiness to prevent any repeated flooding and her administration's measures to assist late last year's flood victims, both households and business firms. Yingluck, who is paying an official visit to Japan from March 6-10, informed Thailand's readiness against any renewed inundation, covering flood prevention and relief plans, as well as rehabilitation for flood-affected business operators to restore their confidence in Thailand, when she met leading Japanese business persons Friday morning. Most of the Japanese business operators who met the Thai premier are executives in the automobile industry, including those of Japan-based Honda Motor, Nissan Motor, Mitsubishi Motors, Isuzu Motor and Toshiba. The Thai prime minister is scheduled to give an interview with foreign journalists Friday afternoon, before returning to Thailand Friday and arriving in Bangkok around 2am on Saturday. (TNA)
