Thailand's first digital park given green light
BANGKOK, December 12 (TNA) - The Board of Investment of Thailand (BOI), under the Ministry of Industry, has approved its promotional privileges to the first digital park project in the country, worth more than 1.58 billion baht, run by True Digital Park Co., Ltd.
BOI Deputy Secretary General Narit Therdsteerasukdi told journalists of the decision on Wednesday, acknowledging that the private investment for the first digital park in Thailand, to be located on Sukhumvit Road in Bangkok, is a major step forward for the national development of the digital industry, in which relevant infrastructure and ecological systems will be established to bring about and sustain an advanced technological community, or a smart city, eventually.
Narit noted that the approved digital park project, once opened, will also become a national hub for producing and training human resources in relevant areas and for developing quality innovations to be in line with the government's Thailand 4.0 Policy.
According to the BOI deputy chief, the over 41,000 square meter-True Digital Park Project will be divided into such areas as a co-working space, a technological laboratory, a learning and training center, an innovation creation zone for educational institutes, an activity and business promotional zone and a one-stop service center.
