Saudi Press: Kingdom's Vision 2030 Focuses on Culture and Arts

Riyadh, November 17, 2019, SPA -- Saudi newspapers highlighted in their editorials today a number of issues at local, regional and international arenas. Al-Riyadh newspaper said in its editorial that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia confirmed in its speech that delivered by Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan, Minister of Culture, at the UNESCO conference that the change of the Saudi culture scene came to foster relations among human communities around the world and build bridges of understanding between them. The paper said that the goals of the Kingdom's vision 2030 focused on the culture of all kinds, as well as the arts, to build a vibrant society, and to establish a prosperous economy, and an ambitious homeland. Al-Yaum newspaper said in its editorial that since the outbreak of the Iraqi popular revolution on October 1, which took place under the headlines of deteriorating services, fighting corruption, as well as rejecting Iranian interference as the main reason for the deterioration of the situation there, the Iranian hand has been clearly present in the face of the revolution, because Iranian regime knows that the Iraqi popular revolution is directed primarily against it. Okaz newspaper said in its editorial that the International Monetary Fund has predicted that the Iranian economy will contract by 9 percent this year, and the growth rate is zero in 2020. Instead of the Iranian citizen finding a glimmer of hope to break down the economic constraints caused by the decision-makers in Tehran, Iranians were surprised by the decision of the Iranian government to regulate the distribution of gasoline and raise prices by 50%, which led many of them to take to the streets to demand the departure of politicians who have never thought about the concerns of citizens, the paper said. -- SPA
