315 KINDERGARTENS NEED TO BE BUILT NEWLY

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Parliamentary Standing committee on Social Policy, Education, Culture and Science met on June 6, Tuesday, and discussed a report on pre-school education and implementation of corresponding laws and regulations. Member of Parliament D.Sarangerel who is heading the working group in charge delivered the report which said that about 60 thousand children aren’t enrolled in kindergartens despite of being eligible. There are 306 890 preschool children in the country, and 240 342 children are acquiring preschool education in kindergartens. On the national level, 854 government-run kindergartens and 504 privately-owned kindergartens are running. Although the minimum number of children allowed in a class is 29, there are about 55-60 children in one class in government-run kindergartens. Member of Parliament D.Sarangerel noted that 315 kindergartens have to be built. Answering to Member of Parliament L.Enkh-Amgalan, she also said, “We are focusing on the legal environment surrounding kindergartens within companies and entities. We are working towards ensuring a safe babysitting service”. Kh.Aminaa
