Annual Meet Of NAM Media Directors To Convene

Tehran, Aug 5, IRNA – Annual meeting of Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) official media directors will convene in Tehran late August, said head of the Scientific Committee of the 16th NAM Summit. Ali Akbar Rezaei said that the media agenda included international relations and global issues, economic development, culture of society and civilization, promoting operation of Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) and international organizations and media and communications. According to Presidential Office’s Center for Research, Evaluation and Documents, he noted that promoting friendly ties and cooperation among developing nations and safeguarding human rights based on universal charter are among the political approaches of the meeting. Economic development approaches included introducing the status of Iran in the joint global management to establish sustainable peace, underlining role of NAM in improving world’s economic structure, he said. The annual meeting of NAM’s official media directors will convene with the aim of compiling policies of the Office for Media Cooperation for organizing the 16th Summit of NAM, Rezaei said. The First International Scientific Conference was held on July 17-18 for the first time in Iran./end
