Brazilian Envoy Stresses Iran’s Right To Peaceful Nuclear Energy

Bushehr, May 6, IRNA – Brazilian Ambassador to Tehran Antonio Salgado stressed Iran’s right to peaceful nuclear energy. He made the remark in a meeting of economic working group held in this southern province on Sunday. He said his country fully acknowledges the right of all world countries including Iran to develop nuclear technology for peaceful purposes based on the framework set by the Non-Proliferation Treaty. He further stressed that any issue regarding Iran’s nuclear program should be settled through negotiations and dialogue. He hoped that the next round of Iran-5+1 talks would enjoy positive outcomes to help reach a final settlement. The Brazilian envoy also noted that despite some restrictions imposed on Iran by West's sanctions, there are still plenty of opportunities to boost trade and economic cooperation with the country. Salgado, together with ambassadors of six other Latin American countries, are here for a two-day visit to become familiar with the economic potentials of this Persian Gulf province./end
