Duterte to visit Thailand on Monday

BANGKOK, March 19 (TNA) – Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte is scheduled to visit Thailand between March 20 and 21 to tighten bilateral relations and enhance cooperation, Thai Foreign Minister Don Pramudwinai said. Don said it is Duterte’s first trip to Thailand since he became the president of the neighboring country in July. Duterte will meet with Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha and members of the private sector, and will visit the Filipino community in the kingdom, the minister noted. Don added that the Philippines is keen on expanding trade and investment, as well as improving cooperation in tourism and agriculture with Thailand. Also, Duterte will take part in the signing of a memorandum of understanding on narcotics security. (TNA)
