Iran Pursues Regional Security: Commander

Bushehr, May 1, IRNA – Acting commander of the Islamic Revolution’s Guards Corps (IRGC) Brigadier General Ali Reza Tangsiri said that IR Iran is pursuing sustainable security in the Persian Gulf region while at the same time believing that the foreign presence is impeding. “We are fully prepared and have a strong presence in the Persian Gulf region,” Brigadier General Tangsiri said at the international ceremony of Persian Gulf National Day in Bushehr on Sunday. He noted that in various drills, as well as official and unofficial messages and meetings with neighboring countries IR Iran’s officials have announced that Persian Gulf will remain Persian till the end of time. “Officials of the neighboring countries should come to realize that we will establish regional security through unity and convergence. There is no place for the presence of foreigners in the Persian Gulf region,” Brigadier General Tangsiri added. He pointed out that the Persian Gulf has 500 varieties of fish, 15 varieties of shrimp, and 600 different varieties of sea creatures. “The presence of nuclear warships of big powers in the Persian Gulf is a serious threat for the environment of the Persian Gulf,” the official added. He noted that the enemies pursue the project of Iran-phobia in order to portray their presence in the Persian Gulf as legitimate and sell their weapons and ammunition to the Persian Gulf littoral states. “The history of Islamic Republic of Iran shows that we have never eyed the soil of our neighboring countries,” Brigadier General Tangsiri said./end
