Iran, Russia Call For Settlement Of Syria Crisis Through Diplomacy

Moscow, May 14, IRNA – Iranian Ambassador to Russia Reza Sajjadi in a meeting with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov here on Tuesday reviewed the latest developments in the Middle East region, Syrian crisis in particular. The Iranian and Russian officials also called for halting the ongoing conflicts in Syria and settlement of crisis by holding negotiations. Sajjadi and Bogdanov, who is also Special Representative of the Russian President in the Middle East affairs, appealed for fostering international cooperation for resolving the ongoing Syrian crisis through diplomatic means. Outlining their stands on the Syrian issue, the two sides underlined the need for holding negotiations on the basis of Geneva Agreement on Syria./end
