Lebanese Democratic Party Leader Hails Iran’s Role

Beirut, March 17, IRNA – Lebanese Democratic Party leader appreciated Iran’s positive and constructive role in regional developments and said his party has always been thankful for Iran’s obvious role in strengthening axis of resistance in Lebanon. Amir Talal Arslan, in a meeting with Iran Ambassador to Beirut Ghazanfar Roknabadi here on Friday, said that our ties with Iran has a historical background and both sides' viewpoints on regional developments and Lebanon internal problems are very close to each other. Referring to Syrian developments and resistance of Syrian nation against foreign conspiracies, Arslan said that Syrians' wide participation in the streets in support of Syrian government proved to world people that the Syrian watchful nation has the ability to resist against all plots. He added that wide participation of Syrian people in the streets to support the government indicated legitimacy of President Bashar al-Assad. Roknabadi, for his part, by referring to the regional developments and existing conspiracies against resistance axis, evaluated wide participation of millions of Syrian people to support President Assad as a sign of failure of arrogant powers' plots against Syria and added that Iran always stands next to people of the region. 'In case of Syria, according to the published statistics by different sources, including Qatari institute, majority of Syrian people support President Assad,' the ambassador said.
