Lebanese Envoy: Rahimi’s Beirut Visit will Bear Positive Results

Tehran, May 2, IRNA - Lebanese Ambassador to Tehran Ali Al-Habhab said on Tuesday the Iranian First Vice President Mohammad Reza Rahimi’s visit to Beirut would bear positive results for strengthening of mutual ties.
In an interview with IRNA , he reiterated Lebanon’s serious resolve to reinforce and strengthen ties with Iran in all fields especially in economic and cultural domains.
Al-Habhab said the Lebanese government and people trust their historical ties with Iran which date back to the Safavid dynasty.
Rahim, heading a high-ranking delegation, is scheduled to arrive in Beirut on Wednesday (May 2) to participate in the first session of Iran-Lebanon High Joint Cooperation Commission.
In fact, this is the first such meeting in the history of bilateral relations between Iran and Lebanon.
The Minister of Road and Urban Development Ali Nikzad arrives in Beirut on Tuesday to make preparations for the Wednesday's meeting between Rahimi and Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati.
During his stay, the Iranian first vice president would hold talks with Lebanese president, prime minister and parliament speaker./end
