Minister of Construction and Urban Development visits Germany

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ A delegation headed by Ts.Bayarsaikhan, the Minister of Construction and Urban Development, paid a working visit to the Federal Republic of Germany on August 28-31. The Minister met with Mr Rainer Bomba, the State Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Transport, Building and Urban Development. The exchanged views on accelerating the bilateral cooperation in the construction sector. Then Mr Bayarsaikhan gave the State Secretary a draft cooperation memorandum to be established between the Ministries. After this, the Minister held meetings with officials of Germany’s Bank for Reconstruction and Credit and Association of Investment and Development to brief on projects that will be realized in Mongolian construction sphere. The delegation also exchanged views with officials of Union of Sustainable Construction and the Institute of Norms and Standards on introducing a system of infrastructure for underground buildings and environmentally-friendly constructions. Furthermore, the Mongolians met with leaders of the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) at Eschborn city and with representatives of the Leipzig-based Chamber of Hand Productions. The delegation group consisted of G.Mergenbayar, a head of the Ministry’s Department of Strategic Planning and Policy; B.Bayarsaikhan, a director of the National Construction Center; M.Batbaatar, a president of the Mongolian Association of Constructors; and others.
