MPs Praise Officials' Efforts To Help Release Kidnapped Iranians In Syria

Tehran, Jan 17, IRNA – Some 242 out of the total members of the 290-seat Iranian Parliament (Majlis) in a statement on Wednesday appreciated the country's officials for their efforts which led to the release of a group of the Iranian pilgrims kidnapped in Syria for more than five months. The MPs also hailed the efforts made by officials at the Foreign Ministry, Ministry of Intelligence and the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) as well as serious attempts made by the Syrian government to set the abductees free. The statement further said while in captivity, the Iranian hostages were kept in worst security conditions by Syrian opposition groups./end
