NAM Meet In Tehran Will Foil West's Plots Against Nation: MP

Tehran, July 31, IRNA – An Iranian lawmaker said Tuesday that the holding of the upcoming meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement member states in the country will defuse all Western plots against the Islamic Republic. In an exclusive interview with IRNA, Rahim Zareh hoped that the 16th NAM summit which will be held in Tehran on August 26-31, will be a turning point in the implementation of the previously made agreement among its member states. According to the MP, the fight against racism, colonialism and imperialism as well as confronting the sanctions which are imposed by the West against independent states and enjoying a common policy to establish co-existance among NAM member states were some strong points of the movement. He referred to the NAM meeting as an ample opportunity to realize the West's hostile measures against Iran's peaceful nuclear program. What has frightened Western states is "the Islamic Iran and not the nuclear Iran," Zareh stressed. He said that participation of heads of states as well as senior officials of NAM member states in Tehran's summit would be "an indication of Iran's powerful foothold."
