Thailand Votes Tuesday on Charter Revision

BANGKOK, December 10 (TNA) - Pheu Thai Party leader Charupong Ruangsuwan says the coalition government will vote Tuesday whether to draft an entirely new charter or amend only sections of the current law. Regardless, Charupong said the planned charter revision would uphold the constitutional monarchy and promote public scrutiny and reconciliation. Meanwhile, opposition Democrat Party MP, Ong-art Klampaibul, said his party was closely examining the charter amendment process, saying it should be transparent and promote public participation. (TNA)
