President’s Advisor Urges Further Co-op In Region

Tehran, Feb 8, IRNA – Presidential advisor for media affairs Ali Akbar Javanfekr said that regional countries should focus on cooperation in order to guarantee the interests and progress of their nations.
Making the remark here on Tuesday evening in a meeting with Indian Ambassador to Iran Dinkar Prakash Srivastava, Javanfekr added that promotion of ties between Iran and India was an important factor in consolidating roles of both countries in regional and international arenas.
Javanfekr, who is also Managing Director of the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA), hoped that India maintains its independent views on international issues.
Pointing to Iran’s very special position in region and the world, he stressed that certain western countries like the US and the UK have been sowing discord among regional countries.
He believed that it was necessary for both Tehran and New Delhi to be vigilant enough not to let anyone damage their relations.
The Indian ambassador thanked Javanfekr for attending India’s National Day ceremonies and said the two countries shared common views regarding many regional and global developments.
He described Tehran-New Delhi ties as long-standing and historical and stressed that the two countries leaders are interested in further expansion of all-out relations between the two nations./end
