Lebanese FM: Lebanon Backs Iran’s Peaceful Nuclear Program

Beirut, April 3, IRNA - Lebanese Foreign Minister Adnan Mansour said on Monday Lebanon supports Iran’ nuclear program as far as it is of peaceful nature. He told reporters that Lebanon is not against Iran’s progress in the field of nuclear technology and backs it. Mansour said International Atomic Energy Agency has repeatedly announced that Iran has always respected all international treaties and acted under IAEA inspectors. Pointing to West's sanctions against Iran, he said westerneres are the main losers of the decision they made against Iran and the sanctions will not affect Iran-Lebanon trade exchange as it now stands at over 100 million dollars. The Lebanese foreign minister underlined unconditional talks as a means to settle Iran’s nuclear issue./end
