Thai PM:There'll be no Cabinet reshuffle in near future
BANGKOK, May 18 (TNA) - Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra has ruled out any new Cabinet reshuffle in the near future, but admitted that banned politicians from the now-defunct Thai Rak Thai (TRT) Party, founded by convicted ex-Thai prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra, will probably join her Puea Thai Party-led government in the future.
In response to reports on a possible new Cabinet change, Yingluck told journalists that it depends on appropriate timing. The prime minister said, however, that her administration will not close the door for the former TRT politicians, whose five-year political ban, ruled by Bangkok's Constitution Court on May 30, 2007 for their violations of electoral laws, ends late this month.
Meanwhile, the prime minister is scheduled to visit the western Kanchanaburi Province this weekend, where she will chair a Cabinet mobile meeting on May 19. The Puea Thai premier will also visit Nakhon Pathom Province to inspect consumer products prices at a local market and will meet women’s groups en route from Bangkok to Kanchanaburi. (TNA)
