Thai PM visits Cambodia

BANGKOK, July 13 (TNA) - Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra is scheduled to pay a one-day visit to Cambodia on July 13 to attend a US-ASEAN business seminar in the Cambodian Siem Reap Province, as earlier invited by US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. Accompanied by her entourage, including Foreign Minister Surapong Tovichakchaikul and Commerce Minister Boonsong Teriyapirom, Yingluck is leaving for the neighbouring country Friday afternoon and is scheduled to then meet his Cambodian counterpart Hun Sen after arriving in Siem Reap, before attending the business seminar. Meanwhile, Thai Supreme Commander General Thanasak Patimaprakorn said on Thursday that the Royal Thai Armed Forces have already prepared information related to unsettled territorial problems at the Preah Vihear Temple along the common border for Premier Yingluck to raise during her discussion with the Cambodian leader and authorities concerned, insisting that both countries will solve their border problems in accordance with resolutions from their Joint Working Group (JWG). General Thanasak revealed that the next Thai-Cambodian JWG meeting will discuss more solutions for mutual interests of both neighbouring countries, noting, however, that both sides are to maintain equal forces along the border. The Thai armed forces chief insisted that Thai and Cambodian soldiers along the border have had good relations and they will start their joint mine disposals in the contentious border area adjacent to the Preah Vihear Temple over the next 10 days.(TNA)
