Salehi : Iran, Key International, Regional Role Player

Tehran, Aug 27, IRNA – Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi said that Iran is an influential and a key-player country in international arena and hence everything in regional and international areas will meet a dead-end in the absence of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Foreign Minister Salehi made the remarks in a special televised program on the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) Summit which is underway in Tehran. He noted that the important agenda of NAM will be presenting the stances of the heads of states. Commenting on the latest news of the first day of NAM meeting in Tehran, Salehi said that the latest news was studying the controversial aspects of NAM meeting which was a great success for the host country. He pointed out that a total of 120 countries are member-states of NAM. 'Egypt will hand over the chairmanship of NAM to Iran for the next three years,' Iranian foreign minister added./end
