Iran Among Top 16 Countries In Science Production

Tehran, Nov 7, IRNA – A senior health official said here Wednesday that Iran was among world’s top 16 countries in terms of production of science. Head of Health Ministry's policy-making council Mohammad Baqer Larijani noted that 30 percent of country’s scientific production is related to medical areas. Making the remark in an academic conference, he said regarding Iran’s large population further attempts in this area are necessary. Larijani said Iran’s science production accounts for 27 percent of that of the Middle East. According to the official, Iran is surpassing such countries as Russia in production of certain medical technologies and biotechnological medicines./end
