Mongolia establishes diplomatic relations with Togo

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Mongolia has established the diplomatic relations with the Togolese Republic in frames of its goal to have diplomatic ties with all members of the United Nations (UN). The joint statement on the establishment of these relations was signed by O.Och, the Permanent Representative of Mongolia to the UN, and his counterpart from Togo Kodjo Menan on September 6 of 2013 in New York city, USA. The countries registered the joint statement at the UN and then conveyed a joint letter to the UN Secretary-General on asking him for introducing it to all UN members. Having established such relations, the two countries have agreed to adhere to the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations, the UN Charter and international law, principles and rules under a bilateral willingness to develop and strengthen the bilateral relations and cooperation. After the ceremony, the countries expressed a mutual willingness to share experience and to cooperate in tackling urgent problems facing the international community. Togo has been elected twice as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council.
