Iran, IAEA Set To Hold Next Round Of Talks After Tehran-G5+1 Meet

Vienna, Sept 28, IRNA – Negotiators of Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) agreed on Friday to hold their next round of talks 11 days after Iran and the Group 5+1 (US, Russia, Britain, China, France and Germany ) wrap up their negotiations.
The decision was made in a meeting between Iranian delegation headed by Iran’s ambassador to the IAEA and head of IAEA team of negotiators Herman Nackaerts in Vienna on Friday afternoon.
Iran-IAEA talks began at the venue of Iran’s diplomatic mission in Vienna and 10 hours after talks between foreign ministers of Iran and the Group 5+1 in New York.
Iran and the IAEA resumed their fresh talks in Vienna ten hours after the historic ministerial level nuclear talks between the Islamic Republic and the six world powers in New York.
Iran’s Ambassador to the IAEA Reza Najafi headed the Iranian delegation in talks with a group of the agency’s experts.
Najafi replaced Iran’s former ambassador to IAEA Ali Asqar Soltanieh shortly after Iranian President Hassan Rouhani came to power.
Iran and the IAEA last met in Vienna on May 15. The meeting, which was the 10th of its kind, was presided by former Iranian envoy to the UN nuclear watchdog agency (Soltaniyeh) and IAEA deputy Director-General Herman Nackaerts.
Iran appointed Najafi as its new envoy to the International Atomic Energy Agency late in August./end
