Bali Police Ensures Safety Of Foreign Tourists: Official

Denpasar, Jan 8 (Antara): Bali is safe despite the Australian government's recent policy of issuing a travel advisory to its citizens intending to visit Bali, according to the Bali provincial police. "We have intensified security measures in several vital tourist attractions in Bali. We call on the foreign tourists to not be afraid to visit Bali," spokesman to the Bali Police Senior Commissioner Hery Wiyanto remarked here on Thursday. Apart from deploying police officers, the Bali police have also deployed intelligence officers at several tourist attractions, Hery revealed. With regard to offering security to the offices of foreign representatives in Bali, Hery said the security measures adopted are still on normal mode. On January 5, the Australian government issued a travel advisory to its citizens keen on visiting Indonesia. In the advisory, the Australian government has urged its citizens to remain on high alert for potential terror attacks in Indonesia. The warning was issued after the United States announced a travel advisory on January 3 for its citizens traveling to Indonesia.
