Putin may discuss military-technological cooperation with Iraqi premier - Peskov

MOSCOW, May 18 /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin and Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi may discuss military technological cooperation at their meeting this week, Putin’s spokesperson Dmitry Peskov told journalists on Monday. "This cannot be ruled out. Concrete contracts may be discussed in general. This theme has always been highly sensitive and closed to public," Peskov said adding that military-technological cooperation might be part of the agenda. Earlier, the Kremlin spokesperson said that the Russian president would receive the Iraqi prime minister who is going to visit Moscow this week. "The conversation will dwell on bilateral Russian-Iraqi relations," Peskov said adding that the talks would focus on ways of building up the entire complex of bilateral cooperation, including trade, investment and energy spheres. "The sides are also expected to exchange views on urgent international issues such as the situation in the Middle East and Northern Africa," Peskov said. Read more
