Abha, May 01, 2025, SPA -- The jacaranda blossom season has turned Aseer Region into a breathtaking purple spectacle, drawing residents to revel in the joyful spring colors amidst the mild temperatures of the Sarawat Mountains' governorates.
Hundreds of nature enthusiasts have flocked to prominent locations in Abha, such as art street and airport park, where the blooming jacaranda trees create stunning natural artistry.
The Jacaranda genus encompasses approximately 45 species of both trees and shrubs. These trees are deciduous in regions experiencing significant cold periods and remain evergreen in temperate climates. Belonging to the Bignoniaceae family, the jacaranda can grow to heights exceeding 18 meters, with remarkable initial growth of up to three meters in the first year. Jacarandas reproduce naturally through seed production, which occurs in March and April after the flowering stage wanes. Optimal germination temperatures range from 19 to 27 degrees Celsius. Seed-grown seedlings typically take longer to flower compared to grafted trees.
