US Reaffirms Commitment to Strengthen Defence, Security Diplomacy Across ASEAN - PM Anwar

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 5 (Bernama) -- Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said the United States (US) has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening defence and security diplomacy across the ASEAN region.

He said this assurance was among the key matters discussed during a courtesy visit by the commander of the US Indo-Pacific Command, Admiral Samuel J. Paparo, at Perdana Putra in Putrajaya, the federal administrative capital on Tuesday.

Describing the meeting as a valuable platform, Anwar emphasised that it served to deepen mutual understanding and facilitate the exchange of views on a wide range of regional issues.

“This includes efforts to further enhance bilateral defence cooperation between Malaysia and the US,” he posted on Facebook.
