Aseer Farms: Unique Blend of Nature and Sustainable Tourism

Abha, August 10, 2025, SPA -- The farms of Aseer Region, especially those stretching across its mountainous highlands approximately 200 kilometers, have emerged as prominent summer tourist destinations. This surge in popularity is fueled by the region’s lush greenery and diverse crops that beautify the highlands during the season.
Aseer’s farmers have successfully turned their agricultural products, such as roses, fruits, honey, and grains, into flourishing rural tourism ventures by preparing their farms to welcome visitors and offering essential services.
Agricultural tourism in Aseer provides a unique experience, inviting visitors to immerse themselves in nature amid verdant landscapes filled with native plants like juniper, samr, and acacia. Visitors can explore agricultural holdings nestled along valley banks and terraced mountain slopes, discover both traditional and modern farming techniques, and visit apiaries, rose farms, and fruit orchards. These attractions are particularly popular among families and children, with specialized tours organized to enrich their experience.
Director General of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture branch in Aseer Ahmed Al Mujthal stated that the region leads the Kingdom with more than 159,000 agricultural holdings, and is the top honey producer, responsible for 20% of national output. The region also hosts 40 active tourist farms, including the largest rose farm in Saudi Arabia, and contributes 14% of the Kingdom's total fruit production.
Al Majthal underscored that these factors have positioned Aseer’s farms as a leading model of sustainable agricultural tourism, where nature blends with heritage, offering visitors an immersive and diverse agricultural experience.
