King of R&B Craig David to Perform in Malaysia on Nov 10
KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 12 (Bernama) -- After more than a decade away from Malaysia, the King of R&B and UK Garage, Craig David, is set to delight local fans with the exclusive concert ‘Craig David Presents TS5: Live in Kuala Lumpur’ on Nov 10.
The concert by the legendary singer from the United Kingdom (UK) will be held at Mega Star Arena here, especially for fans who have followed his musical journey since the early 2000s.
Organiser T-Rex Studio said in a statement, the concert will feature the special TS5 concept -- a combination of live vocals and DJ sets that has made David a global phenomenon since it was introduced in 2012.
“TS5, which began as a radio show from his apartment in Miami, has since toured prestigious stages around the world such as Ibiza, Dubai, London, and Tokyo. Now, for the first time, it will meet fans in Malaysia.
“Fans can expect a high-energy and dynamic night, featuring Craig David’s hit songs spanning more than two decades, including Fill Me In, 7 Days, Walking Away, What’s Your Flava, and When The Bassline Drops,” it said.
Adding to the excitement, David’s visit to the country coincides with the release of his ninth studio album, Commitment, which was launched on Aug 8.
David first gained worldwide attention through his collaboration with Artful Dodger on Re-Rewind, before skyrocketing to fame with his debut solo single Fill Me In, making him the youngest male solo artiste ever to top the UK charts.
His debut album Born To Do It (2000) sold over seven million units worldwide, and was recognised by MTV and The Guardian as one of the greatest albums of all time.
Throughout his career, Craig David has recorded over 13 million album sales, and received numerous prestigious awards including three Ivor Novello Awards, two MTV Europe Music Awards, and 14 BRIT Award nominations.
In 2021, he was also awarded the MBE by Queen Elizabeth II for his contributions to music and charity.
Fans can purchase tickets priced from RM288 to RM1,888 at myticketempire.com starting Tuesday.
