Field Guidance of Chairman Kim Jong Il for Country and People
Pyongyang, December 14 (KCNA) -- It has been 14 years since Chairman Kim Jong Il passed away.
Looking up to the statue of Kim Jong Il in his field padded clothes on Mansu Hill, the people of the DPRK recollect with deep emotion the immortal traces of him who made ceaseless forced march for the prosperity of the country and the happiness of the people in the days of the Songun revolutionary leadership.
Saying that it is the goal and worth of his life to devote his all to the building of a thriving nation and the happiness of the people, the Chairman visited our people and service personnel in the face of snow or rain to give them strength, wisdom, love and affection.
In those days, the bywords of the era including forced march in the blizzards of winter, forced march in the sweltering weather, forced march at midnight and high-intensity forced march were born and stories associated with a call "field" were created.
He personally drove the jeep to visit the soldiers at the distance of more than 400 kilometers on a day in March 1996 and went into the waterway tunnel of the power station construction site where water was dropping from the ceiling on a day in April 2010, saying that he was going to go anywhere my soldiers worked.
The DPRK people are still recalling with tears the 2 400 kilometers-long journey of forced march in the blizzards of winter in Jagang Province in January 1998 and the 4 000 kilometers-long journey of high-intensity forced march in 2008 when he visited more than 30 units in 20-odd days from the first period to the last period of sweltering weather.
The Chairman spent December 2011, the last period of his life, in the field train and passed away in the running train.
The 353 576 kilometers-long journey of forced march made by Kim Jong Il from the morning of the New Year after sending 1994, a year of the biggest loss of the nation, to the last period of his great life was a continuation of the field guidance which was consistent with boundless devotion and painstaking efforts for the country and the people. -0-
