Malaysia’s UKM Launches Cybersecurity, AI Professional Certification Programme in Qatar
KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 2 (Bernama) -- Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) continues to strengthen its internationalisation agenda, with the recent launch of a professional certification programme in the fields of cybersecurity and Quantum AI, in collaboration with BlackBerry and QuantumX Solutions GmbH.
UKM, in a statement, Monday, said the launch of the programme, held in Lusail, Qatar, is part of the strategic direction for the development of UKM-Qatar.
It said the programme reflects the role of UKM-Qatar as an international-standard professional education platform, while also expanding the university’s impact in developing cybersecurity talent and sustainable global cyber resilience capabilities.
“This professional programme is the result of a strategic collaboration between UKM, BlackBerry and QuantumX Solutions GmbH, following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Nov 4 last year.
“The collaboration focuses on the development of cybersecurity expertise and the application of AI, digital risk management, and cyber resilience capabilities, which are increasingly critical in the global technology landscape,” it said.
As a complementary initiative, the three parties also organised two Cyber Resilience Workshops, as platforms for knowledge sharing between academia and industry, which were attended by more than 50 participants from universities and the industrial sector in Doha.
The workshops provided direct exposure for public and private sector participants, to system security challenges, digital infrastructure protection, and high-impact technical requirements in real operational environments, including the rapid and secure use of AI prompting.
