Technical Innovation Brisk at Hungnam Fertilizer Complex

 Pyongyang, February 9 (KCNA) -- The Hungnam Fertilizer Complex in the DPRK has conducted a technical innovation campaign for the domestic production of catalysts, reduction of cost and increased production.
The complex is making preparations for the operation of newly-built production base, regarding the domestic production of catalysts as an important policy task.
On the basis of experience gained in the course of test production, its Catalyst Research Institute examined relevant technical indices according to the kind and use of catalysts and provided a sci-tech guarantee for producing high-quality products through brisk research.
The complex increased the power factor of motors used for compressor of ammonia synthesis process at 98 percent by rationally assigning tasks according to the specialty and abilities of technicians and skilled workers and by raising the enthusiasm of competition for practical abilities.
Technicians and workers of the maintenance unit introduced a new tool steel with low cost and good quality index, thus ensuring the full operation of machines and equipment. -0-
