The National Security Advisor Chairs A Meeting Of The Committee Established To Combat The Recruitment Of Iraqi Citizens Into The Russian Army

Baghdad /NINA/ -National Security Advisor Qasim al-Araji chaired a meeting of the committee established by the Prime Minister's Office to combat the recruitment of Iraqi citizens into the Russian army. Representatives from security institutions, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and other relevant bodies were present.

The meeting discussed the committee's agenda and adopted decisions and measures to address this issue. These included activating legal provisions under the Iraqi Penal Code, which punishes any Iraqi citizen who joins the armed forces of another country. The committee also addressed holding accountable tourism companies and entities that assist Iraqi citizens in engaging in such activities, as well as combating the financing, recruitment, and networks involved in this matter.

The committee approved these decisions and submitted them to the Prime Minister for final approval. /End
