New cable car opens in Ala-Archa Park

Bishkek, Feb. 18, 2026 /Kabar/. Today, the cable car in the Ala-Archa State Nature Park was officially put into operation in the presence of the head of state Sadyr Zhaparov.

The length of the cable car is 1 kilometer. It has 16 funicular cabins with a capacity of 10 people. Two of them are intended for VIP guests and are designed for 4 people. The upper station is located at an altitude of 2494 m, and the lower station is located at an altitude of 2166 m. The service life is planned to be 50 years. It can transport a thousand people to the top of the mountain per hour.

20 A-frame houses and a 3-story eco-hotel are being built at the upper station of the cable car.

It is worth noting that construction work began in January 2025. The work was carried out by the Austrian company Doppelmayr, one of the world leaders in the design, construction and maintenance of cable cars.

The total length of the route is 23 kilometers. Currently, the first stage of construction has been completed.
