Orozo Fast begins in Kyrgyzstan tomorrow

Bishkek, Feb. 18, 2026 /Kabar/. The Orozo (Ramadan) fast will begin in Kyrgyzstan on February 19, according to the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kyrgyzstan.

The Muftiate stated that February 18 marks the thirtieth day of the month of Sha'ban. Accordingly, the first day of Orozo falls on February 19.

February 19 has also been announced as the first day of Ramadan in a number of countries, including Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Iraq, Iran, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Indonesia, Brunei, Oman, Singapore, Australia, Japan, Pakistan, India, Malaysia, and South Korea.

The European Council for Fatwa and Research has likewise declared February 19 as the first day of Ramadan.
