Cold conditions continued unabated in Rajasthan with
Ganganagar being the coldest place in the state at a low of
2.4 degrees Celsius. Bikaner recorded a minimum of 3.3 deg C,
while Jaipur chilled at 3.4 deg C and Pilani had a low of 4.1
deg C.
Sikar registered a low of 4.5 deg C, while Churu had a
minimum of 6.1 deg C.
Uttarakhand faced intense cold conditions as most parts of
the hill state had a clear day after rains and snowfall
on Wednesday. In Dehra Dun, the minimum temperature was 4.1
deg C, two degrees below normal.
The administration has ordered closure of all schools in
the state capital the till Jan 15 due to intense cold.
Authorities have also ordered closure of all schools up to
class eight in Uttar Pradesh till January 17.
Dense fog descended on the national capital this morning
disrupting air and rail traffic even as cold wave maintained
its grip over the city, which recorded a low of 8 deg C almost
same as Wednesday.
Around 25 international and domestic flights were affected
due to the fog.
Foggy conditions also prevailed early this morning at
Ambala, Hisar and Karnal in Haryana and at Amritsar, Ludhiana
and Patiala in Punjab.
The Met office has predicted dense fog tomorrow in Delhi
and mist or shallow fog in the night. PTI TEAM
